ShadowChase Running Club provides timing services at races in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. Among the ones the club already times are the Don Osborne Library Run, Ripon Almond Festival Run, Oakdale Chocolate Run, Modesto Turkey Trot and YMCA Christmas Tree Run. As part of its timing services, ShadowChase will set up the finish line and clock, time the runners as they come across the finish line, provide a computerized print-out of all age-group winners and overall winners and their times, and post the results on the club's Web site, http://www.shadowchase.org. The club has a minimum call-out fee of $200 for races with up to 100 runners. For every runner over 100, add an additional $2 apiece. So if your race has 75 runners, the cost would be $200. If you have 101 runners, it would be $202. And if you have 200 runners, it would be $400. Beginning Jan. 1, 2009, the new minimum call-out fee will increase to $300 for races with up to 100 runners. And if you have 200 runners, it would be $600. In order for ShadowChase to time your event and provide the computerized results print-out, you must provide the club with names, ages and genders of all preregistered runners, saved as an Excel file. If your organization would like to rent just the clock so you can time your own race, the fee is $100. ShadowChase charges an additional $25 to rent flagging, delineators and other race-course equipment. Beginning Jan. 1, 2009, the prices will increase to $200 for clock rental and $50 for other race-course equipment rental.
