Bring a dish that can be shared with others. Run 6:30 p.m.; Potluck, 7:15. Go south on Oakdale Road past Scenic Drive. Turn right, or west, on the next street, Edgebrook. Head west for four blocks. At the stop sign, turn right into the park. Meet at the covered picnic area. The club will provide gloves, garbage bags and pick-up sticks. You will receive 10 Grand Prix points for the clean-up.

Great post-race goodies, including chocolate milk (billed as an excellent recovery drink). This is a port-a-potty-free zone. Nice clean indoor bathrooms. no headphones, pleasePlease help us keep our races safe by not wearing headphones. ShadowChase is a member of the Road Runners Clubs of America, which is encouraging its member clubs to promote headphone-free races. RRCA's insurance carrier—which insures its members' races—also is urging race participants to run without headphones (this means iPods, too) for the safety of all involved. Thank you.

Weekly ShadowChase Club runs/walks

Saturdays: Back by popular demand—Mr. T's. Meet at the Mr. T's parking lot, corner of Tully and Standiford, at 7 a.m. Stay for coffee, conversation and doughnuts afterward.

Sundays: Meet at the SaveMart (near Panda Express) on Oakdale Road and Scenic at 8 a.m. for a run through East LaLoma Park. Speed and distances vary, based on your own needs and ability. Walkers welcome: and encouraged. We have a walking group leader, too. Stay for coffee, snacks and conversation afterward.

Tuesdays:The Modesto Junior College Track is closed from dusk to dawn until late March while crews install new lighting.

Wednesdays: This low-key, informal program will meet every Wednesday night for about an hour, beginning at 6 p.m., at the covered picnic area in East LaLoma Park. There will be walking groups, jogging groups and running groups. So you can train at your own pace. The goal is to prepare you to complete the Modesto Classic 5K fun run May 29. Veteran coaches will help you along the weay. Wear comfortable clothing and good walking or running shoes. Youths are welcome if accompanied by an adult. For more information, click here.

Thursdays: Meet at the parking lot of Mr. T's, Standiford and Tully, at 5 a.m. for a shorter run along the canals—4-5 miles. Bring a headlamp, if you have one, and wear reflective clothing. Stay for a quick doughnut and coffee afterward.
