• Start your Memorial Day weekend off on a healthy note—bring the whole family to participate in these fun walking and running events.

Walker-friendly 1-mile course

Same fast, certified 5K course —great for P.R.s!

In the 1-mile, medals three deep in each 10-year age group: 0-9, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69,70-plus

In the 5K, medals three deep in each five-year age group: 0-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-plus

5K prize money: $100 to first-place male and female winners; $75 M/F second place, $50 M/F third place. Masters overall M/F receive $75 each. Only one monetary award per person.

Record-breaking bonus: A $100 bonus will be paid to the first male and first female runner who break the male and female overall 5K course records, respectively.

free kids' fun runMedals to all finishers in the kids' fun run. The free Pepsico Kids' Run is open to those 10 years and younger.

Lots of tasty (but healthy) post-race goodies and drinks provided by Frito-Lay.

T-shirts guaranteed only for pre-registered runners, so don't wait! Pre-registered entries must be postmarked by May 19. (No t-shirts for the free kids' fun run.)

• Earn 25 ShadowChase Grand Prix points just by working the race as a volunteer, walking or running one of the Modesto Classic events. You can only earn Grand Prix points if you're a paid ShadowChase member before race day. Join today by visiting the ShadowChase membership site.

• All registered runners will be eligible for raffle prizes, but you must be present to win.

Race proceeds benefit the nonprofit ShadowChase Running Club and running-related activities around the community.

For the safety of others, please, NO dogs (except helper dogs for sight or hearing impaired), bicycles, Rollerblades, skateboards or head phones, including iPods. Even if you're not running, please leave your dog at home for the safety of your pet and the runners.
